ABOUT IBS/DUHS
For about two decades the Institute of Behavioral Sciences is contributing its share in serving the ailing humanity by offering consultation for patients with psychiatric illnesses and substance use-disorders, under the supervision of well-known, qualified and experienced professionals of psychiatry, psychology and occupational therapy.
We are providing Out-patient services along with fully furnished In-patient department for patients with VIP Rooms, Private Rooms, Semi-Private Rooms and General Wards separate for male and female patients. We have state of the art daycare facility and fully temperature controlled psychiatric pharmacy that dispenses medicines to in-patients and out-patients.
The Institute is a constituent part of Dow University of Health Sciences as Department of Psychiatry DIMC, DUHS. The Governing Body on 4th August 2017 appointed Brig. Dr. Shoaib Ahmed (Sitara-e-Imtiaz Military) Rtd; a renowned psychiatrist as its Executive Director, later he was selected as HOD Psychiatry DIMC/DUHS. Under his directorship the institute is continuously flourishing and aim to be the best mental health service provider in Pakistan.
Academics & Teaching
- At present IBS involved in teaching of Post Graduate students in Psychiatry for FCPS under the umbrella of DUHS.
- 4th year MBBS students visit our institute for their clinical rotation in Psychiatry for 1 month.
- Students from Indus Hospital FCPS/MCPS family medicine doctors also visit IBS for their 3 months clinical rotation.
- Students of Pharmacy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Workers and Nursing from various universities visit IBS for their professional internship in their respective domains.
- We organize CMEs on regular basis on Monday (08:30 am to 09:30 am), Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 09:30 am to 10:30 am and CPC on Tuesday from 09:00 am to 09:30
